Who are internal customers?

Internal customers are members or staffs or outside suppliers of an organization who are directly associated with that organization. This means, if one department or individual within an organization supplies another such within the same organization with goods or services, then the latter is described as the internal customer of the former.

For example, a dispatch department can be the internal customer of a packaging department, which in turn may be the internal customer of the manufacturing department. Anyone in the organization can be an internal customer.

An internal customer can be a co-worker in another department or in the same department, a distributor who depends upon us to provide products or services which in turn are utilized to create a deliverable for the external customer. In general, internal customers don't have a choice. For example, if the sales department doesn't like accounting's policies, they can't fire that department and hire another.

External customers, on the other hand, are the people who are not directly associated with the organization. An external customer is someone who pays the employer, and ultimately facilitates their paycheck.

In the modern competitive market, the scope of external customers is really huge as there is a lot of preference open before them. If the products or services are unable to satisfy their needs they have the option to shift the business else where. While using the word customer, the primary thing that comes to our mind is external customer.

Customers can also be further categorized into intermediate customer and ultimate customer An intermediate customer is a dealer or trader who purchases goods for re-sale. An intermediate customer can be an organization or individual who operate as distributor or dealer between the supplier and the consumer. An intermediate customer is not a consumer at all.

The ultimate customers on the other hand can be called consumers because they do not re-sale the purchased goods or products. Therefore it can be said that the person who buys and uses a particular product in its final form is an ultimate customer.

Discuss the Forms of Grievances.

Posted by Ripon Abu Hasnat on | 0 comments | Leave a comment...

There may be three forms of grievances in an organization such as-

1. Factual:
When an employee is dissatisfied with his employment because of legitimate or genuine reasons such as violation of employment contract by the employers or unfulfilling of any other factual needs. The grievance is regarded as factual.

2. Imaginary:
When an employee is dissatisfied with his employment because of a wrong perception, wrong attitude or wrong information, it gives rise to imaginary grievance. Though for such case the management is not liable but still the responsibility to resolve the problem rests with it.

3. Disguised:
The dissatisfaction among employees in such case may be due to the reasons that are not known to the employees themselves. This dissatisfaction may be due to the pressure from other directions like family, friends, neighbors etc. The manager himself has to detect such grievances and resolve them through counseling the related employee.
Forms of Grievances.

Definition of Grievance

Posted by Ripon Abu Hasnat on | 0 comments | Leave a comment...

Grievance refers to any dissatisfaction or sense of injustice which is felt by an employee in relation to his pay, working conditions, leave, recoveries of dues or other aspects of employment. Broadly speaking, “a grievance is any dissatisfaction that adversely affects organizational relations and productivity.”1 Grievance may sometimes be expressed and sometimes not. Even sometimes, it may not be valid also. The grievance arises when the employee feels that something’s happening or going to happen unfair and unjust to him in the organization.

Complaints affecting one or more individual workers in respect of their wage payments, overtime, leave, transfer, promotions, seniority, work assignment, and discharge would constitute grievance. Where the points at dispute are of general applicability or considerable magnitude, they will fall outside the scope of this procedure.

banking-exam-Grievance
However, some type of grievances may be beneficial for the organizations, as it may direct the attention of management towards improving the working conditions, incentive plans, leave plans etc. When grievances, generally, minor one are not expressed by the employees they just accumulate and lead to major conflicts inside the organization such as lockouts, strikes or any other collective disputes. Therefore, proper administration of grievance and grievance handling is necessary in an organization as unattended grievances may lead to frustration, low productivity, increase rate of absenteeism, feeling of discontent etc.

Short Notes on Scalar Chain

Posted by Ripon Abu Hasnat on | 0 comments | Leave a comment...

This is called the formal lines of authority from highest to lowest ranks. It is a hierarchy principle that is important to initiate unity of direction. The principle emphasizes on communication means in an organizations being vertical, therefore insisting that there should be one single uninterrupted chain of authority existing in the organizations.

According to Fayol, “Organizations ought to have a series of authority and communication that runs from prime to bottom and will be followed by managers and also the subordinates”.
Fayol declared that this chain mustn't be damaged in a very commonplace formal communication method.

It was determined within the startups that the vertical arrangement of communication and structure structure is standard, and employees of the organization have direct communication with their boss’s boss
which in a very manner will go against the scalar principle.

banking-diploma-Scalar-Chain
Scalar chain depicts there should be a clear line of authority in an organization so that when one sees the need to “Escalate things” then you know the line of authority. When long-faced with emergencies or in ruinous things, one should know the right line of authority to handle such situations.
